Hail Damage Across Spring Branch, Hunters Creek Village, and Bellaire
The storm swept through the western and central Houston area with heavy hailfall in Spring Branch, Hunters Creek Village, and Bellaire.
Spring Branch Hail - homeowners saw widespread reports of cracked shingles, bruised underlayment, and dented gutters. Many roofs in Spring Branch were already nearing replacement age, and this storm accelerated that timeline.
Hunters Creek Village Hail - with its luxury homes and high-value properties, was hit especially hard. Hail damage in this area can be costly, as tile, slate, and designer shingles are common—and roof repairs must be done with expert precision.
Bellaire, a dense and well established community just outside the loop, experienced roof damage across multiple neighborhoods, with asphalt shingle roofs showing visible dark spots, bruising, and missing granules.
Because these areas feature homes of varying styles—from older ranch homes to new construction luxury estates— roof hail damage assessments must be customized. What’s consistent across all three areas is that hail damage is not always visible from the ground. Small cracks and granule loss weaken the roof, leading to leaks months later if ignored.

Jersey Village, Willowbrook, Cypress, Klein, and Champions Hail Damage
The storm also tore through the northwest corridor, where Jersey Village, Willowbrook, Cypress, Klein, and Champions all reported significant hail.
Jersey Village Hail - homes, many built in the 70s and 80s, are particularly vulnerable since many have older roofing systems. Dented gutters and shingle granules were widespread.
Willowbrook Hail - neighborhoods near shopping centers and major roads experienced large hailstones that dented shingles, left siding cracked, and damaged and dented parked vehicles.
Cypress Hail - a rapidly growing community with both older subdivisions and brand-new developments— saw roofs take direct hits. Even new roofs in Cypress were impacted, as no roofing material is truly hail-proof. You can see some of the hail was as large as golf balls or bigger!
Klein Hail - residents reported heavy hail that stripped shingle granules and created soft bruising spots across rooftops. Many homeowners may not notice leaks until the next heavy rainstorm.
Champions Hail - known for its country club and golf course communities, saw hail that cracked shingles, broke skylights, and left water intrusion risks for many upscale homes.
The combination of older homes in Jersey Village and Klein with newer construction in Cypress and Champions makes this storm’s damage broad and varied. What unites these neighborhoods is the financial risk homeowners face if they delay filing insurance claims. Insurance companies often enforce strict timelines, and roofs left unchecked can lead to denied claims later. Schedule your free inspection!
Signs of Hail Damage You Can Spot Without Climbing on the Roof
Even if you're not comfortable climbing a ladder, you can still look for evidence of hail damage from the ground. Some of the most common indicators include:
Granule buildup in gutters and at downspouts
Dented vehicles, HVAC units, or metal mailboxes
Cracked or broken window beading or screens
Torn foliage, shredded plants, or plenty of green leaves on the ground
Dented gutters or downspouts
If your neighborhood was hit by hail, these signs are red flags. They may suggest roof damage even if leaks haven’t appeared yet. Hidden damage is common. IF you've noticed any of these signs, we strongly suggest you Schedule Your FREE Roof Inspection to have a proper assessment of your roof!
How Hail Storms Like This Damage Roofs in Houston
Roofing systems in southeast Texas face unique challenges during hailstorms because of the combination of hail impact, high humidity, and intense seasonal weather. Here’s how hail can damage various types of roofing materials commonly found in neighborhoods like Spring Branch, Hunters Creek Village, Bellaire, Jersey Village, Cypress, Willowbrook, Klein, and Champions:
Granule Loss Hailstones can strip protective granules from asphalt shingles, creating bald spots that leave the underlayment exposed. This accelerates wear, increases UV damage, and can lead to leaks over time.
Cracks, Splits, and Bruising Even smaller hail, under 2 inches, can bruise shingles. These internal fractures weaken the roof structure and often go unnoticed from the ground, shortening the roof’s lifespan significantly.
Damaged & Dented Flashing and Vents Hail frequently dents or cracks metal components such as flashing, ridge vents, pipe boots, and gutters. These damages disrupt proper water drainage and increase the likelihood of future leaks.
In Houston's humid climate, even minor hail damage can result in moisture infiltration, mold growth, and wood rot. A professional roof inspection is essential to identify these hidden issues and prevent costly repairs.
